Canadian Geographic Annual Photo Contest
Eligibility: All entries must be Canadian content.
Judging takes place on September 10, 2010.
Winners will be notified by 5 p.m. EST on September 25, 2010.
The winning photos will be published in the December 2010 issue of Canadian Geographic and on our contest website beginning January 4, 2011.

Category Winners (5) 1 per category:
Winning photos will be published in the December 2010 issue of Canadian Geographic and featured as part of a travelling exhibition organized by the Canadian Museum of Nature on behalf of the Alliance of Natural History Museums of Canada. This exhibit will visit some of the country’s finest museums.
Winners will also receive a one year family membership to the Canadian Museum of Nature.
Category winners will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize.

With regard to any photograph submitted to the Canadian Wildlife Photography of the Year Contest, the owner of the photo’s copyright retains all copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph to the Wildlife Photography of the Year Contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) Canadian Geographic Enterprises and the Canadian Museum of Nature and its affiliates and licensors a world-wide, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, adapt, transmit, communicate, publicly display and perform, distribute and create compilations and derivative works or merchandise from any such submitted photograph to promote the Wildlife Photography of the Year Contest and Exhibition. In addition, you grant the Canadian Museum of Nature the right to deposit the photographs in its National Collection for safekeeping and to use the photographs for the Museum’s own educational and non-commercial use.
In respect to photographs submitted to the kid’s category, permission to reprint, publish or otherwise reproduce the images, as described above, shall be obtained, in writing, from the minor’s parent or guardian.
