Canon S90 Street Photo Contest
Canon S90 Street Photography Challenge. In the spirit of Henri Cartier-Bresson, the genre’s most famous proponent, it challenges you to pit your wits against the streets and capture that ‘decisive moment’. Judged by an esteemed panel of professionals and avid photographers, three winners will each receive a new Canon S90 PowerShot digital camera.
mage Submissions must be in JPEG format with a maximum file size of 1MB each. Entrants must be aware that all images will be judged on a computer screen. Should your image be shortlisted for final judging you will be asked to submit a high resolution 300 dpi file within 7 days. Failure to do so may disqualify you from the competition.
Eligibility Photographers living in Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myamar, Pakistan, Nepal, Singapore, Srilanka, Thiland, Vietnam are eligible to participate.
Prizes
- The First Prize winner gets a new Canon PowerShot S90 Digital Camera with a Canon WP-DC35 Waterproof Case, and a Canon SELPHY ES40 photo printer.
- The Second Prize winner gets a new Canon PowerShot S90 Digital Camera and a Canon SELPHY CP780 Photo Printer.
- The People’s Choice Prize winner gets a new Canon PowerShot S90 Digital Camera.
JUDGING CRITERIA Competition entries will be judged by a panel of judges with the following criteria.
- Relevance to the theme of Street Photography How well you’ve understood the concept of Street Photography.
- Technical execution How well you’ve captured the image in terms of exposure and focus.
- Originality How well you’ve translated your vision into an image. This is a test of your ‘eye’ as a photographer.
- Composition How well the elements within your image are framed as a ‘complete’ photograph.
Copyright All images submitted to the competition, including winning entries, will remain with the copyright of the photographer. Canon Singapore Pte Ltd reserve the right to freely reproduce and exhibit all entered images in all media, in connection with this competition. Should images be desired for further use in unrelated media permission and fees will be agreed with the photographer in advance.
Submissions for the competition opens on 23rd October, 2009 12pm, Singapore time (GMT +8) and closes on 29th December, 2009 at 5pm, Singapore time (GMT +8).
